‘The Woods’ is Actually ‘BLAIR WITCH’

A few months ago Lionsgate released a trailer for a new horror film called ‘The Woods’.  It looked awesome.  At Comic-Con they revealed that ‘The Woods’ is actually a sequel to ‘The Blair Witch Project’ and I’m currently hyped as hell.

Say what you will about the legacy of The Blair Witch Project but I’m on the side that loves the found-footage sub-genre and that was the granddaddy of them all.  Those sneaky bastards decided to make a direct sequel (Book of Shadows doesn’t count, even if Jeff Donovan was awesome in it) following the brother of Heather, who was the main girl in the original, in search of his missing sister.   Just look at this:

 

The director, Adam Wingard, has worked on films like You’re Next and The Guest, which were both awesome and this trailer promises something incredibly creepy and hopefully scary as fuck.  Here’s hoping a new generation will be scared shitless on September 16th.
