Marvel and Netflix Reveal the Trailers for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders

Marvel finally drops trailers for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.  Could these be the shows that finally suck me into their television universe?

Disclaimer: I have not yet finished any season of any of Marvel’s Netflix shows. Made it half way through season 1 of Daredevil before I was bored. Made it half way through season 2 of Daredevil before I gave up and I made it 3 episodes into Jessica Jones before going back to the fun shows in the DC universe.

I know, I know. I’m a bad nerd. Everything is just so dour and depressing that it makes it hard to binge watch and to be honest I’m much more of a fan of DC’s television universe thus far.  That could all be changing based on the new trailers that Marvel dropped this year at Comic-Con.  I don’t have any sort of history with these characters but know just enough to be a tad excited.

First up is Luke Cage.

According to Wikipedia: ” Imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, he gains superpowers in the form of unbreakable skin and superhuman strength. The character frequently teams up with fellow superhero Iron Fist, and is married to Jessica Jones, with whom he has a daughter.”

Mike Colter, who plays Cage, is a freaking badass and if the show keeps this type of tone I’m probably going to make it through it.  He was my favorite part of Jessica Jones.  It doesn’t hurt having O.D.B. as the backing track while he’s kicking copious amounts of ass.  Bring it on.

Next up is Iron Fist.

According to Wikipedia: “He is a practitioner of martial arts and the wielder of a mystical force known as the Iron Fist, which allows him to summon and focus his chi.”

No idea what to expect except hopefully some sweet kung-fu moves.  Dig it.

Finally they revealed a quick teaser for The Defenders which is a team made up of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones.

This could be the dourest of all shows since it’s going to have all of the major Marvel Netflix players in it.  We’ll have to see.  The only thing I’m legit hoping for is that at some point these characters show up in the Marvel movies.  Also, I hated that they used Nirvana.  I’m getting old.

If anything these have to be better than the last season of Arrow, right?
