The first Men in Black movie came out of nowhere. It rode on Will Smith’s success in Independence Day and was a huge success. Based on a Marvel comic by the same name and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, it helped to cement Will Smith as a capable comedic/action actor.
The sequel came out a few years later and it was rancid. It felt like a re-hash of the first one with no heart. Even my lovely Rosario Dawson couldn’t elevate the piece of crap. Then they announced they were making a third one and since then it’s been plagued with reshoots, script re-writes, and other problems. This is the first look of the new one and it’s goddamn creepy how well Josh Brolin channels Tommy Lee Jones. It also looks pretty fun. What do you think?
It’s probably because MiB2 left such a bad taste in my mouth, but I’m not really stoked for this flick, Brolin notwithstanding of course.
